Emma began her counselling training with the Iron Mill College in Poole in 2013, and qualified herself with an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling in 2017, gaining her BACP accreditation in 2020. Emma qualified as a Certified Forest Therapist with Nature and Therapy UK in 2019, and is a mentor for Nature and Therapy UK trainee forest therapists, and a tutor for the Nature and Therapy UK International Forest Guide Diploma (Deeper into the Woods) and offers her CPD "How to Integrate Nature Therapy into your Counselling practice " to the Iron mill students.
Before qualifying as a counsellor, Emma worked as a bereavement support worker for Cruse Bereavement and Mosaic (a Dorset charity supporting bereaved families). Emma is interested in how nature connections may provide a spiritual and energetic healing space for her clients. and since 2019 has worked within outdoor spaces including woodlands and school gardens to support her clients; young people, adults, couples and families. Emma currently has a key role in Dorset primary schools working alongside multi-agency teams to support and safeguard the mental health and well-being of Dorset young people.
Emma enjoys the beach, paddleboarding, hugging beech trees, and spending time with her children and dog Honey either on the beach or in the woods.
