Image of Sarah PalmerSarah started her journey into counselling in 2009 after leaving behind a career in financial management in the media industry in Soho, London to move to Somerset.

Since qualifying, for the past 6 years, she has been a volunteer counsellor at SWEDA which is a charity based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset supporting all those affected by eating disorders.

As a qualified trainer Sarah also delivers eating disorder awareness programmes in schools, colleges, youth centres and medical practices for SWEDA, and has led an eating disorder support group for both sufferers and carers. 

Her time at SWEDA has given Sarah a breadth of experience and depth of insight into a wide range of eating disorders, their impact on the physical and mental health of sufferers and the wider impact on their lives and those supporting them.

Sarah also runs a private practice from her home which she shares with her husband. Having trained as a classical actress in her youth, Sarah spends much of her spare time both on stage and working behind the scenes of her local theatre.

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Biology, Adv Dip Integrative Counselling, MNCS.

Role(s): Course Lead and lecturer on the Post Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders: Brain, Body and Mind.
