Sarah qualified as a counsellor in 2012 and for many years worked for Somerset and Wessex Eating Disorders Association based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.  She has run a private practice from my home since 2018.

Over almost 10 years she provided counselling for clients presenting with a range of eating disorders and also gave support and guidance sessions to those affected by eating disorders.  For many years Sarah ran a support group for anyone living with, or affected by eating disorders which welcomed sufferers, those recovered, family members, health professionals and anyone who felt that the group might be of help to them.  She also delivered eating disorders awareness training to GP surgeries, schools and colleges.

Sarah has extensive experience working as a qualified trainer for a large company. 

This experience has enabled Sarah to develop the current PQDED syllabus with the Iron Mill which provides counsellors and health care workers with a broad ranging understanding of all types of eating disorders and their presentation, theories and approaches, and treatments. Sarah has been teaching the Post Qualification Diploma in Eating Disorders annually at the Iron Mill College since 2019.

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Biology, MNCS, Diploma in Psychotherapy and Therapeutic Counselling. 

Role(s): Course Lead and lecturer on the Post Qualifying Diploma in Eating Disorders: Brain, Body and Mind.
