The Psychotherapists and Counsellors Regulation Debate

"Counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK currently engage in voluntary regulation. This protects the reputation of the professions as practitioners on the whole take the ethical and professional practice requirements very seriously.  However, breaches can be controversial and can mar the good work that the vast majority do.  This article raises the sorts of questions and concerns that arise because of a lack of government regulation, especially when vulnerable clients/patients have not been protected.”
