Workshop Description
The death of a parent is one of the most fundamental losses a child can face’ (W. Worden)
This workshop will explore the impact of death in the life of a child and the ways in which effective bereavement support can be offered to children and their families.
This workshop will help us to understand the needs of bereaved children and young people and explore ways to offer appropriate support.
We will discuss a child’s developmental responses to death and how the grief of children and young people differs from the grief of adults.
‘
Creative ways of working will be a focus of the day and participants will have time to discuss ways in which they can develop their own practice in this area.
